During the ninety-fifth running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, KTM racer Chris Fillmore smashed the previous record for the fastest run up the mountain. Aboard a KTM 1290 Super Duke R, the all-discipline motorcycle racer blasted around the Colorado incline’s famed paved corners with impressive speed and unmatched skill. To celebrate the accomplishment, KTM has released this thrilling recap video of the run.
KTM North America’s rider Chris Fillmore created history when he blew though the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb lap record in late June 2017 riding in the Heavyweight Motorcycle class. His record setting time was a remarkable 9:49.625, almost three seconds faster than the mark Carlin Dunne set back in 2012. It was the 95th running of the Pike’s Peak event. Fillmore was a former Factory KTM Superbike racer and Supermoto racer.
